MusicRead

Privacy Policy

Effective November 3, 2026

This policy covers the MusicRead Android app, package com.musicread.practice.notation, and this website. MusicRead has no account, advertising, analytics or tracking.

Questions you send from the Ask tab

Asking a question is optional. When you tap Ask, the text you typed is sent over an encrypted connection through MusicRead's API gateway to a third-party AI service, to produce the answer you requested. The app does not write the question or the answer to storage.

Network infrastructure and the AI provider necessarily process the request and technical connection information in order to respond, and their own security and retention controls may apply. Please do not include personal details in a question.

Information stored on your device

MusicRead stores your practice results (the mode, the clef, whether the answer was correct, and the time) in a private local database. It also stores your clef choice, appearance choice, and whether you have completed onboarding. None of this is sent to the developer or included in an Ask request.

Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes this information, subject to any device backup tools you control.

Permissions

The only permission the app requests is internet access, used for the Ask tab. It does not use the microphone, camera, contacts, location or your files. Practice and theory lessons work without a connection.

This website

This website has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking pixel, form or cookie of its own. Its hosting provider may process basic request information such as IP address, browser details and timestamps to deliver and secure the site.

Children

MusicRead does not knowingly build profiles about children or anyone else. A child's personal information should not be typed into the Ask tab.

Accuracy and changes

AI answers can be wrong. If MusicRead's data practices change, this page will be updated before the related app release, and the date above shows the current version.
