MusicRead is a practice tool for learning to read written music. A staff appears, you answer by tapping, and the app shows straight away what the notation means. It needs no microphone and no instrument, so you can practise anywhere.

Three kinds of practice:

- Name the note: one note on the staff, in treble clef, bass clef or both, including notes on ledger lines
- Name the interval: two notes one after the other, named by size from a 2nd up to an octave
- Read the meter: one complete bar, matched to 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 or 6/8

Exercises are generated by rule as you practise rather than picked from a fixed list. After each answer you see the note's full name and where it sits on the staff, or how the interval or bar is counted.

Also in the app:

- 40 short theory lessons in 7 topics: the staff, clefs, note values, rhythm and meter, accidentals, intervals, keys and scales
- Staff examples drawn inside the lessons
- Accuracy by practice mode and by clef
- An Ask tab for short answers to your own music theory questions
- Light and dark appearance

Practice and lessons work offline. When you tap Ask, your question is sent through MusicRead's API gateway to an AI service to produce the answer, and the app does not save it. AI answers can be wrong, so check anything important against a lesson or a teacher. Practice results stay on your device.

MusicRead has no ads, in-app purchases, account, analytics or tracking. Interval practice names size only, not quality such as major or minor. The app teaches reading, and it does not listen to or grade your playing or singing.
